I can’t see
any wisdom in
hiding my light
under anything
when there’s
so much darkness
everywhere
but
it has to be
closely cupped
in a high wind
which
we’ve had
a lot of lately
and that can
make it
harder to see
what with
all the debris
blowing
into your eyes
then flowing tears
washing them clean
a cupped light
can easily go
unnoticed
but better weather
is coming
and some dark night
soon
you’ll easily be able
to see me shining.
