Awoke at
4 AM
in the middle
of
a crisis of faith
having followed
to the best
of my understanding
divinely whispered
instructions
regarding certain choices
intimating
if not promising
I would not
be disappointed
yet
the distance now
between laughing stock
and dreams come true
is paper cut thin
turning back
no longer an option
as I approach
an outcome.
