We wait for
the loved one
who
unexpectedly disappeared
without a trace
to reappear
hoping
she has
only been thoughtless
in
going about her business
without leaving word
that
she would be gone
longer than usual
but
each hour that passes
without her
brings us closer
to the conclusion
we will never
